Music and Chalk on Main

Columbiana’s 5rd Annual Chalk on Main will be on Saturday, June 14th & Sunday, June 15th, 2025! We would like to transform Main Street into a patchwork of colorful murals. Using chalk & soft pastels, artists will create original art or reproduce famous works in a visual explosion of color.
Columbiana welcomes all artists to highlight their artistic talent & enthusiasm by participating in our event . Come Chalk with us!
Amateur artists can be any individual who is not a professionally paid chalk artists. Professionals may draw but are not eligible for competition.
Chalk on Main Dates & Times
Saturday, June 14, 2025 8 AM to 8 PM
Sunday, June 15, 2025 8 AM to 2 PM
Artwork Times:
Set up and Prep June 13, 2025 5PM to 8 PM
Artists can begin at 8 AM on Saturday & Sunday.
Amateur artists can work one or both days.
Competition Judging will begin on Sunday at 1 PM &
will be judged by the professional chalk artists.
What Artists Do:
Artists create their artwork in a designated space on Main Street. The space can be 4’ x 4’ or 6’ x 6’ or a custom size for 3D art if arranged ahead of time.
Each Artist Receives:
Adults – soft pastel set of 48 colors
Youth (under 15) – set of crayon chalk
Competition – Adult Prizes
1st Prize – $300
2nd Prize – $200
3rd Prize – $100
Popular Choice – Gift Basket
Competition – Youth Prizes
Gift Baskets for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.
Registration Deadline
We must receive your registration by June 20, 2025.
Registration is Free.
• All art must be family friendly, no nudity, no politics
and no discriminatory imagery of any sort. Art
featuring local businesses is welcomed! Any images
deemed inappropriate will be removed.
• Soft Pastels and Chalk are the Only Approved
Media. Only a solid form of the medium may be
used. Tempera Base (liquid) may be used.
• Artists may participate individually or as teams.
