Carnival rides whirling. Friends, old and new hugging.\u00a0\u00a0 Many Ohio counties host their own signature fairs and festivals every year, and Columbiana County is no different. The Columbiana Street Fair is a favorite; a tradition for both the residents here as well as those living in the surrounding areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1317 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/2021-09-11-16.08.27-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/2021-09-11-16.08.27-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/2021-09-11-16.08.27-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/2021-09-11-16.08.27-300x400.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/2021-09-11-16.08.27-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Thursday, Friday, and Saturday after Labor Day finds Columbiana, Ohio, blocking off the main street through the village as food trucks, carnival rides and the \u201cbig white tent\u201d rises\u00a0 above the asphalt signaling it is time for what many feel is the best street festival in the state earning it the moniker \u201cThe State Fair of Street Fairs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s 134<sup>th<\/sup> edition, organized by many volunteers and which supports the activities of the American Legion (Post #290 is the local chapter) and provides a source of income for organizations and merchants of Columbiana, continued the traditional events synonymous with the \u201cStreet Fair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1319 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/bingo-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/bingo-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.visitcolumbianacounty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/bingo.png 578w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Thursday evening&#8217;s parade featured fire trucks, tractors, home-made floats, marching bands, and local American Legions. Rides for the kids light up the night as does the laughter they create\u00a0 A commercial tent at the end of the street includes everything from a local photo contest (though not this year; don&#8217;t worry \u2013 it will be back) to vendors, charities, and local groups selling items to support their upcoming activities.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and the raffles! The American Legion holds raffles continually throughout the three days giving away loads of neat items and thousands of dollars. Again \u2013 with all proceeds going to supporting this great organization.<\/p>\n<p>And while all of this is fantastic, as a fair watcher, seeing people smiling as they come across an old friend or former neighbor is probably one of the best aspects of the Columbiana Street Fair.
